乌兰巴托（Ulaanbaatar），是蒙古国首都，全国政治、经济、文化、交通、工业，科技中心。乌兰巴托始建于1639年，1778年起，逐渐定居于现址附近，并取名“库伦”和“大库伦”，蒙古语为“大寺院”之意。1924年蒙古人民共和国成立后，改库伦为乌兰巴托，并定为首都，意思是“红色英雄城’。
